The latest and new fiction books have always been a place to find the best stories to be developed into film. Translating an author's perspective and novel can be a tough decision to make. However, if film directors select fiction books well enough, it can turn into a multi-billion dollar reward.

Leslie Dixon is the screenwriter/producer who turned the dark science fiction novel The Dark Fields by Alan Glynn into the number one film Limitless. Leslie and Alan spoke together about the long process of turning the book into a Hollywood movie. Alan is pleased with the film adaptation of his novel, saying that Leslie had written a great script.

He said that he met with other producers in the past who had good ideas, but he would walk away ultimately unsatisfied with the scripts they presented until he read Leslie's version. She said that he created the script without an outline. She simply opened the book, jotted down some notes, sat at the computer and went crazy. She knew she would have to invent more plot that would appeal to movie audiences who tend to be a lot more ADD-ish than book readers, so she added some extra twists and turns.
