This year top 100 new fiction books have had huge success worldwide. Many of these books have been interesting in the way authors have told stories but books that have an impact and meaning for the reader.

One new fiction book which was published this year 2011 is call Embassytown. Embassytown is a new dark fantasy fiction book by China Mieville that pushes the envelope of sci-fi and fantasy writing. The story is set in the far future, where a conclave of human colonists have achieved an uneasy coexistence with the native Ariekei aliens on an unnamed and distant planet. These shambling, two-mouthed and winged race of creatures can communicate with humans in a language which can only be spoken by a few genetically engineered human pairs, known as Ambassadors.

In the Ariekei tongue, deception is impossible as every utterance by necessity must correspond to observed reality. The story leads up to a political, social and linguistic revolution that will ultimately transform the residents of Embassytown. While the beginning of the novel takes some work to get into, once you become familiar with the alien world the Mieville has built the book becomes a fascinating study on truth and deception.
